I bought this new computer back in December but because I was forced strongly encouraged to be as organized as possible and to not just transfer all of my old files and doubtless mountains of unnecessary crap, I did not crack the seals and get this new beauty out of the box until Wednesday, 4th March. Here is the obligatory reminder that, yes, I DO INDEED write my dates like an Englishman.
I’ve transferred over 100,000 files to a brand new external hard drive. Most of those files will forever stay there.
I’m making a folder specifically for files that I use more often and a folder with images for photos for posts that I will one day have to write. My closest friends reading this blog already know what that folder is for because I am pretty sure they have one as well.
I am going to handle this computer a LOT differently.I’m actually altering the settings so that my downloads go on to the external drive by default. I’m also going to make it a point to clean things up at least once every 7 days and also at the end of every large project.
I’m also using this as a point to add things to my daily routine as I continue coming back from the depression of the last year.
I have so many goals and plans for 2020 and while I am off to a slow start I am confident that I can pick up speed and create a life for myself that I like at least a little more than what is my current day to day.
A new computer is one of my favorite things on earth.
Now, back to work.
